1 WfIEREAS, the City recognizes the hard work, dedication and service performed by its employees through a
2 formal Employee Recognition Program. The City believes excellence in City government requires a strong
3 commihnent to promote employee excellence and morale and pride in work; believes the benefits of
4 attracting, retainiiig and motivating employees through an Employee Recognition Program support employee
5 job satisfaction, and that this in turn increases cooperation and productivity. The result is to provide
6 excellent public and customer service to better serve the interests of the citizens of the community.
WHEREAS, excellence in City government supports programs that enable employees to receive recogution
for their dedication and work; and programs are supported that enable employees to receive recognition for
10 their dedication and work.
ll NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the following programs and expenses are determined to be
12 for a public purpose; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Office of Human Resources be authorized to
13 reimburse various vendars for costs incurred in providing the following programs and services in 2005; to be
14 paid out of Cseneral Fund, Activity 00165.

Years of Service Recognition
Service award pins for employees with 10 to 15 years of service not to exceed $2800.00
Service award pins and a breakfast for employees with 20 to 45 yrs of service, not to exceed $2900.00
Misc. Supplies in preparation for ceremony, not to exceed $700
Honorariuxn for guest speaker talking on wark related topic, not to exceed $1000
Public Service Recognition Week
Karl Neid Community 5ervice Award supplies; not to exceed $500.
