�REAS, The mmittee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent, and
the Commissioner of Public Works of the City of Saint Paul, has secured an agree=�
ment for the purchase of that certain property described as follows: � ' '�

The Northeast Quarter (NEµ) of Lot two (2) except the west eight (W. 8) `
feet thereof, Irvines Addition of Outlots to the Town of St. Paul, acc. .�

WI-IEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the opening and widening�
of the Arch-Pennsylvania Highway from Lafayette Road to Payne Avenue, and the �a
price at which the property may be purchased is at the total amount of $18,�800.00;
a fair and reasonable price according to the appraisal obtained by the Comm�ittee ��
on Lands; and � I • �

WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said property at the price
stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee submitted herewith; ��

RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of Saint Pau]„
the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the purchase of �the
land described as:

- RESOLVED Further that. the proper city officials are hereby authorized and �
directed to pay to Guido and Niccolina Giusti, vendors of said property, the� � �
sum of $18,800.00 said sum to be paid to the aforesaid vendors from PIR Fund� 6000;,�
to be reimbursed from Bond Fund No. 7200-ST-32, upon their furnishing a cert�ifi- �
cate of title �nd a registered property report continued to date evidencing good ��
marketable title in Guido and Niccolina Giusti, and the total payment to be made �
upon tender by said parties of an app'ropriate warranty deed conveying title to
said property to the City of Saint Pau1. � � _ �

The owners of the above described- lands, Guido and Niccolina - ►
Giusti, have accepted an offer tendered them by the City in ' `
the amount of $18,800.00 as compensation for the sale of the � ;
said land to the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the � �
the City of Saint Pau1 for right-of-way for the Arch-Pennsylvania '
Highway, In view of the reasonable price for which it can be °
purchased, said price being the appraised fair and reasonable '
market value thereof, we, the Committee on Lands, do recommend = :
to the Council of the City of Saint Paul that it authorize the - �
purchase of said land in lieu of condemnation proceedings at � °
the price of $18,800.00 as negotiated with the owners. �i
