WHEREAS, Steve Chicilo, owner of a home at 612 McKnight Road South in Maplewood, has requested
pemussion to connect his property to the St. Paul sanitary sewer located in McKnight Road because his septic
system has failed and Maplewood does not have a sewer available to serve his property, and
WHEREAS, Section 79.01 of the Legislative Code states that the before any property located outside the city
limits connects its sanitary sewer to the St. Paul's sewer system, authorization must be obtained by resolution
from the St. Paul Ciry Council, and
WHEREAS, Steve Chicilo, has ageed to pay all cos[s of publication necessary for this resolution, hire an
approved House Drain Conhactor, obtain a Saint Paul Sewer Utility Permit, pay an Advance Assessment for the
sewer conneclion, and pay the Sewer Availability Chazge fee to the City of Maplewood, and
WHEREAS, The City of Maplewood has stated that it is willing to allow Steve Chicilo's request, and in order
to do so, has reques[ed that the St. Paul City Council authorize the connection, and
WHEREAS, The Director of the Department of Public Works recommends that the City Council au[horize the
said sanitary sewer connection, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in Chapter 79 of the Legislative
Code and the concurrence by the City of Maplewood.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does authorize and
permit Steve Chicilo ro connect his property at 612 McKnight Road. South to [he Saint Paul sanitary sewer
system, subject to the terms and conditions of Chapter 79, as amended and also subject to the additional
condition that the property shall be disconnected from the Saint Paul sewer system and connected [o the
Maplewood system upon the construction by or for the City of Maplewood of a public sanitary sewer abutting
this property.

Steve Chicilo, the owner of a lot at 612 McKnight Road South in Maplewood wishes tn connect a soon-to-be conshucted house drain
to a CiTy of Saint Paul public sewer. The Ciry of Maplewood does not have a sewer available to serve him, but Saint Paul does.
Maplewood has agreed to allow tlus connection to our sewer. Secaon 79.01 of our Legislative Code requires that the City Coun6il
authorize connections from'properties outside the city limits. -
