This is written in response to the Petition of Marine I
Realty to rezone from "C" Residence to Commercial property }
located on the southwest corner of Snelling and Ashland �
j Avenues, and described as Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, Block 16,
� Schroeder's Addition.

, This raatter was considered at the February 2, 1967, Board
� of Zoning meeting. The property has 160 feet on Snelling �
' Avenue and 123 feet on Ashland Avenue with an area of ;
� 19,630 square feet. The surrounding zoning is as follows: � _
� to the West and North, "C" Residence; to the East, Commer-
� cial; and to the South "A" Residence. The axea uses are
; as follows: to the West and South, residential; to the
'� North, a fire station; to the east, a supermarket. The -
' Comprehensive Plan recommends multiple-family for the
�� property and surrounding area with the exception of the
' property across Snelling Avenue which is proposed for
Commercial. �

I I•t was the findings of the Board that it would be reason- '
� able to rezone the property because of the existing sur- { _
j rounding commercial uses. Therefore, the Board recom- � _
;I mends the Petition be granted and the property rezoned ,to :
Commercial use. . �

letter is to state our position with respect to the petition
of Marine Realty Corporation for the purpose of rezoning ��

Mr. Tittle, the petitioner, has explained that the i
rezoning is necessary to secure financing from a National '
Bank pursuant to a sale of the property to a company which :
now leases the premises. Mr. Redding, the Manager of the �
present lessee, has explained that no change in the use of the #
property is contemplated. F

� We have no objection to a change in zoning which would �� � I
allow the present lessee to secure financing for the purchase .}
of the property. However, we wish to go on record as opposing �a �
any rezoning which would permit use of the property for a use �=
which would interfere with the residential nature of homes }
