WI�REAS, on September 7, 2005, the Saint Paul City Council adopted Council File OS-831, Ratification of Assessments
for Excessive Consumption of Inspection Services for Properiy Code Violarions for January through part of Apri12005
(File No. JOSOlE, Assessment No. 8088); and
WI�REAS, on September 21, 2005, the Saint Paul City Council adopted Council File OS-881, Ratification of Assessments
for Property Cleanup during April, May, June 2005 (File No. J0503A, Assessment No. 8071); and
WHEREAS, the properiy at 416 Hope Street being described as B. Sinnens Subdivision of Blocks No. 10 and 22 of Lyman
Dayton's Addition Subject to Easement Lot 23, Block 10, with the Property Identification Number 32-29-22-11-0078 was
assessed amounts of $70 and $657 respectively; and
WI�,REAS, the present owner purchased the property in May 2005; and
WHEREAS, the present owner did not receive proper legal notification about these assessments; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends deleting the amount of these two assessments;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby deletes these assessments; and
BE IT FURTFIER RESOLVED, that the reduction of $727 be funded by the Exempt Assessment Fund.

Kathy okayed this to be referred back to a Legislative Hearing (he did leave a message for Kathy too).

I tafked to Vang Xiong, 755-1636, about 416 Hope. He is upset about assessments he has received. He
gave me a File J0501 E, which is Excessive Consumption of Inspection Services for $70, but the bill he
received from Real Estate is more than that. He was unable to get me any more file numbers.
As is my usual practice in these cases, I told him that these assessments have been approved by City
Council, and the Legislative Hearing Officer cannot undo anything the Council has done. I told him to call
the Councilmember representing this area to see if she is willing to refer this back to Legislative Hearing.
By the way, Mc Xiong told me that he cafled Marcia and I a couple of times and we did not return his calls.
With a quick look through my phone log, I don't see a call from him.
