� Following is a report of the Building Department on conditions of i ��- � �
the property known as 21 Thompson Street. The owner of record is, ; �;� -

Inspection was made November 3, 1966 and the following report was � j`' t
made on the propertjr as descri�ed above. This property is classifie �j �
- � - as a two-family dwell.ing of frame construction, two stories in height, �,} - �
�Nith a limestone basement. The building is a}�proximately 22 feet { ��� � �
. wide, 72 feet long and 26 feet high. The inspector_ indicated- that j �#j �
' . = at the -time- of =this inspection there was no personal property of � E
any value on the premises. . � - � �-

EXTERIOR " � • • ='
The exterior stairways are dilapidated and out of level, the porches� i�, �
are rotted -at the lower sections, the rear exterior porch was not
properly c�ompleted �and is in such condition that ,it is ready to �i; y �
collapse. The roof sags, the siding has deteriorated showing ex- :F.
tensive 'rotting, the windows are broken and some are missing, and �i- � �
• there is evidence that the subsheathing beneath the siding has also �,- ;,
started to rot. ;: � �

The foundation is of limestone and has deteriorated to some degree. �t_ �
The structural members of wood that are supporting the house are ' `'�
deteriorated and show evidence of rotting. � i�: � '

The first floor contains three rooms, and all rooms have the plaster {�
_ falling off the walls and ceilings, the floors ar.e sagged and out of ��,
level and the stairways are in a dilapidated condition, �'

SECOND FLOOR �'�
The se�ond flooz� contains five rooms� The plaster is in poor condi� ��:
tion throughout, with evidence of it falling from walls and ceiling .. i ' , �
�'he cabinets and interior trim have been partially rEmoved. The � �
plumbing fixturES have been damaged, G � �

The plumbing and electrica�l systems are not in service and do not f j'� ,
appear to be usable, There is no heating system in the building4 ; �: ,

2f it is the opinion of the owners of this property that it can be � ���
� rehabilitated, it will be necessary that they submit the list of .�
the corre.ctions they propose to make regarding the structural condi- ��, � . �
tion of the building, electrical and heating systems, with a schedule ! �
for the completion of the rehabilitatiorr program, along with the ap-�f f '
pl�ication for the permits. Ir� the meantime it will be necessary that! `
the property be properly secured so as to prevent entrance by un- !�'
authorized persons, and all combustible materials removed from the !�- ;
interior of the structure. ' °

Therefore, it is the conclusion of th.e Bureau of Public Buildings t�� 1
that by reason o.f inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, pY�y.sical,
damage, unsanitary condition and abandonment that this building ��t •
constitutes a hazard to public health� safety and welfare� It is �, �
the further recommendation of the City Architect that the Council �� �
