CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA
6VIIEREA5, the Saint Paul Emergency Communications Center is currently operating in the Public Safety Building,
and;
3 WHEREAS, vacating the Public Safety Building for rehabilitation and reuse is part of the plan approved by the
4 Council and the Administration when creating the Law Enforcement Center, and;
5 WHEREAS, much of the Com Center's existing equipment is from the 1960s and 1970s and would not likely
6 survive a move and retrofit, now;
7 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council requests the Administration to provide a
8 detailed report no later than Tuesday, Febntary 15, 2005 on all costs associated with at least two scenarios, those
9 being: Locating a new site, the purchase or long term rental costs of a new site, the cost of a build out, and moving
10 the curtent equipment to that site. And, using space in the Griffin Building, the cost of a build out, replacing
ll outdated equipment, and all other costs associated with the move to a fully integrated 800 MHz system.
