JOHNSON What skills, training or experience do you possess for the committee(s) for which you seek appointment? Each of the three commissions for which I am applying is concerned with legal issues. I am a practicing lawyer with experience and expertise in the legal issues that are relevant to the commissions for which I am applying. First, I have experience in criminal lav and in the law of civil rights because I have worked in the federal judiciary. This would make me a productive member of the Police Civilian Review Commission. Second, in my law practice, I have specialized in employment law, and most of my work in employment law has been in the context of public-sector employment. I have handled many employment discrimination lawsuits and labor grievance arbitration hearings. I am able to sort through the maze of employment- related laws and rules and aiso am able to identify practical solutions to employment disputes. This would make me a productive member of the Civil Service Commission or the Human Rights Commission. Reasons far your interest in this particular committee: I am interested in the three commissions for which I have applied primarily for the reasons stated above. They are closely related to my law practice, and I believe that law enforcement and personnel are of critical importance to municipal government. r r.r 13c Minncsob Goveramtat Dsta Prsctices Act (Minaesotx Statutu Chaptox 13) govetas thc City's use olthe iaformatioa consaiasd ia this applicatioa.
