W�REAS, Pursuant to resolution, C. F. No. 240997, approved
November 19, 1968, a public hearing was duly held on Tuesda.y_,
December 3, 1968, before the Coun.cil of the City of Saint Paul, said '
hearing pertaining to the condition of the structure located at 574
Iglehart Avenue, Saint Paul, Minnesota; and
WHEREA-S�, Upon the facts presented at the said hearing consisting
o� photographs, inspection reports and the recommendation of the City
,Architect, it is found and determined by the Gity Council that
according to the records and files in the office of the Register of
Deeds , ,the last record owner of the above—described property is C. W.
Michael Company; that the State Capitol Credit Union is the mortgagee
and purchaser at foreclosure sale on September 6, 1968; and that
there are no other lien holders of record; and that it is further
determined that the above—described building constitutes a hazardous
building within the definition of Minnesota Statutes Section 463.15
for the following reasons:

of rot, the chimney bricks are loose due tb eroded
masonry joints , roofing material is missing in several
areas , and the concrete stoops are deteriorated to the
point where they are considered dangerous; '

c. The interior condition of the building is as '

has been torn out, the cabinet doors have been torn
from the hinges , the heating system was by hot water;
however, most of the radiators have been removed and
there is no functioning heating, electrical or plumbing

the roof frame is complete;ly rotted, the building is
�, deteriorated to .the point where it is no longer
reasonable to repair and is considered to be hazardous ;

in its present condition and the above corrections must
be made in compliance with the Building Code and the `

RESOLVED, That in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Sections �
463. 15 through 463. 26, and based upon the foregoing findings of .
the City Council�, the Coun.cil of the City of Saint Paul does hereby ` ,'
make the following Order: � �
ORDER
� � 1: - The own.er° of the above-described building shall make the- _
same „safe and not detrimental to the public peace, health, safety
and welfare by having the said building razed and the materials °, �
therefrom removed from the premises within thirty (30) days from '' '
' the date of the service of this Order� '

;2. Unless such corrective action is taken to comply with �
this Order or an answer served upon the City of Saint Paul and
filed in the Office of the Clerk o� the District Court of Ramsey
Coi�nty, Minnesota, within twenty (20)� days from the date of the

Order to raze and remove the said building will be made to the �

Re: File #1966--574 Iglehart
Gentlemen:
The Building Department is hereby submitting its report on the
condition of the property knovcrn as 574 Iglehart, a single family dwelling
one and one half s�ories in height, containing a full bas ement. The
building is approximately 24 ft. wide, 40 ft, long and 23 ft, in height.
The property at the present time is vacant, standing open and has been
subje.cted to extensive' vandalism. This also includes the garage on the •
rear of the lot. The 'owner of record is C. W. Michael Company.
The legal description of the property is Lot 4, Block �6, Mackubin
and Marshall's Addition to 5aint Paul.
` A recent inspection indicates the following:
EXTERIOR. The exterior is in poor condition with portions of the
- wood sid.ing showing evidence of rot. The chimney bricks are loose due
. to the eroded masonry� joints. The roofing material is missing in several
. areas. The concrete ,s.�:oops are deteriorated to the point where they
are considered dangerous.

INTERIOR. The interior of the structure has been extensively
vandalized. � The�plaster is loos e on the-walls, tlie electric fixtures have
been removed, the kitchen sink has" been torn out; the cabinet doors have

ACCESSORY BUILDING. Consists of 20x20 ft. square frame garage.
The roof frame is completely rotted. The building is deteriorated to the
point where it is no longer reasonable to repair and is considered to be -
hazardous.
Inasmuch as a rehabilitation schedule has not been submitted by the owner, it

is the conclusion of the Bureau of Public Buildings that by reason of
inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, physical damage, unsanitary condition
and abandonnzent, the above structures constitute a hazard to public
health, safety and welfare. It is the further recomi.nendation of the
City Architect that the Council concur in this conclusion and refer the
matter to the City Attorney's office for submission of this condemnation
to the District Court.
