WHEREAS, The ommittee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent,
the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings, and the Com-
missioner of Finance of the� City of Saint Pau1, has secured an agreement for
the purchase of that certain property described as follows;

� The East twenty-two (22) feet and two (2) inches of Lot Thirteen
,
� (13) in Block One (1) of Edmund Rice's Second Addition to the
� City of St. Pau1;
WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the Acker Recreation
Center, and the price at which the property may be purchased is at the total
amount of $7,000, a fair and reasonable price according to the appraisal
obtained by the Committee on Lands; and

WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said property at the
price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee submitted
herewith; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of Saint
Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Pau1 does hereby authorize the purchase
of the lands described as: ,
• The East twenty-two (22),feet and two (2) inches of Lot Thirteen
(13) in Block One (1) of Edmund Rice's Second Addition to the
� � City of St. Pau1; �
RESOLVED Further that the proper city officials are hereby authorized and
directed to pay to Hazel M. Kuhn, record fee owner, and Jerome Bailey,
contract for deed vendee, the sum of $7,000.00, said sum to be paid to the
aforesaid vendors, frbm Fund 9768-501-002, upon their furnishing evidence
of good marketable title in the aforesaid vendors, and the total payment
to be made upon tender by said parties of appropriate deeds conveying title
to said property to the City of Saint Paul. '

� The City of Saint Pau1, acting through its Valuation Engineer, has
� negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:

Addition to the City of St. Paul.

� The contract owner offthe above described land, Jerome Bailey, has
� accepted an offer tendered him by the City in the amount of $7,000
as compensation for the sale of the said land to the City.

i This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the City
, of Saint Paul for the Acker Recreation Center. In view of the
reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said price being
the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof, we, the
� Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the City of Saint
� Pau1 that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu of condem-
{ nation proceedings at �the price of $7,000 as negotiated with the
� owner. �
