WHEREAS, T e Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent,
the Commissioner of Parks and ' Recreation and Public Buildings, and the �.
Commissioner of Finance of� the City of Saint Paul, has secured an agreement
for the purchase of that certain property described as follows:

' Lot 4, except the north 101 feet thereof, Block 7, Merriams
' Rearrangement of Merriam Park (as to Blocks 7, 8, 9, 10 & 16) ,
� subject to highway; `

WHEREAS,. The property described therein is necessary for the expansion of
Merriam Terrace Park, and the price at which the property may be purchased is
at the total amount of $14;250.00, a fair and reasonable price according to
the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and ,
WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said property at the
price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee submitted
herewith; now, therefore, ie it

RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of Saint
Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the purchase
of the land described as: �
Lot 4, except the north 101 feet thereof, Block 7, Merriams
Rearrangement of �Merriam Park (as to Blocks 7, 8, 9, 10 & 16) ,
_ subject to highway; '
RESOLVED Further that the proper city officials are hereby authorized and
directed to pay to Michael Parrone, record fee owner, the sum of $14,250.00,
said sum to be paid to the aforesaid vendor frorra Fund 9767-501-004, upon his
furnishing evidence of good marketable title in the aforesaid vendor, and
and the total payment to be� made upon tender by said party of appropriate
deeds conveying title to said property to the City of Saint Paul.

The City of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer, has
� negotiated to purchasi certain property described as follows:
- Lot 4, except the North 101 feet thereof, Block 7,

7, 8, 9, 10 & 16), , subject to highway.

' The owner of the above described land, Michael Parrone, has accepted
3 an offer tendered him �by the City in the amount of $14,250 as compen-
sation for the sale of the said land to the City. -

� This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the City
; of Saint Pau1 for thelexpansion of Merriam Terrace Park. In view
� of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said price
! being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof, we,
' the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the City of
� Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu of
� - condemnation proceedings at the price of $14,250 as negotiated with
' the owner. I
