WHEREAS, The State Legislature in the 1957 Session did pass -
a.n Act described as Laws of Min.nesota 1957, Chapter 812 , which - �
law created new powers a.n.d duties in addition to those duties
already possessed by the Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul ,
said powers a.n.d duties consisting of the creation a.n.d development
of industrial development districts within the City of Saint Paul
by such Port Authority in line with the newly added duties a.n.d
responsibilities referred to, an.d specifically granting authority
to said Port Authority to make a budget for its operations in the
industrial development field un.der said new Act, and granting the
power to said Port Authority to request the City Council to levy
such taxes for such purposes; and
WHEREAS, The Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul has
informed the Council that it has prepared a.n.d made its budget
for industrial development operations in 196g under and pursuant
to the provisions of the Laws of the State of Minnesota 1957,
Chapter 812, and that said budget for industrial development is
in the a.mount of �95 ,000.00; a.n.d
WHEREAS, The said Port Authority has filed with this Council
a certified copy of the resolution passed by said Port Authority
requesting that un.der said law the City Council levy as taxes for
the benefit of and expenditure for industrial development by said
Port Authority of said amount, a.n.d that there be imposed upon the
property legally taxable in the City a levy sufficient to produce
the amount of �95 ,000.00; now, therefore , be it _
RESOLVED, That under and pursuant to said law referred to , "
Laws of Min.n.esota 1g57, Chapter 812 , a.nd for the purpose of
making available said sum of �95 ,000.00 for the support of the
` industrial developmen.t program of said Port Authority of the City
-; of Saint Paul and subject to the maximum legal tax levy provided

in said law, there be and is hereby levied for the support of
said Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul on all property �
.tagable therefor in said City, a tax for the year 1968, collect-
ible in lg6g, sufficient to produce the amount of �95 ,000.00, as
set out in the Budget of the Port Authority of the City of Saint
Paul and duly made of record in the minutes of the meeting of
said Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul; and be it
FUR.THER RESOLVED, Th'at , said a.moun.t is to be levied subject
to the provisions of Minriesota Statutes 458.1g9 authorizing
35�100 of on.e mill upon the dollar' of the assessed valuation of
all taxable property in said City (excluding money and credits) ,
'' together with adjustment for un.taxed personal property as auth-
orized by Minnesota Statntes, Section 272 . 64, adjustment for
homestead egemptions on real property as authorized by Min.nesota •
Statutes, Section 273.13 (7a) , a.n.d adjustment for sales ta.g re-
placements as authorized by the Tax Reform and Relief Act of
. 196'7 , Laws 1967 Extra Session, Chapter 32, as particularly
• provided for in Articles XV and XVI of said Act; a.n.d be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Clerk is directed to certify
� a copy of the tag levy as aforesaid for the year 1968, collect-
� ible, in. the year 196g, to the County Auditor of Ramsey County,
� immediately upon adoption a.nd approval of this resolution; and
be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, That resolution of this Council , Council
File No. 240085 , is hereby rescinded.
