WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the
Purchasing Auent, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Commissioner
of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings of the City of Saint
Pau1, has secured an agreement for the purchase of that certain
property described as follows:
That part of the W2 of the NEµ of Sec. 27, Township 29,
Range 22, described as follows: Commencing at the north-
east corner of;the SWµ of the NEµ of said Sec. 27, Town-
ship 29, Range 22; thence north 52°14T1 W. along the center
line of Ames Avenue a distance of 7 feet to the point of
beginning; thence south 34°12't W, a,�distance%f 186.77
feet to a point; thence north 55°48TT W. a distance of 100
' feet; thence north 34°12TT E. a distance of 193 feet to a*
point on the center line of Ames Avenue which is 100.20
feet from the point of beginning; thence south 52°141i E.
along the center line of Ames Avenue a dis-tance of 100.20
feet to the point of beginning, subject to the rights of
' the publi� in Ames Avenue, acc. ; and ,�

WI-�REAS, The property described therein is necessary for the
, Roosevelt Homes Playground site, and the price at which the property
� may be purchased is at the total amount of $21,650.00, a fair and
reasonable price according to the appraisal obtained by the Committee
on Lands; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said
property at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of
said Committee submitted herewith; now, therefoi�e, be it

RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the
City of Saint Pau1, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does
hereby authorize the purchase of the land described as:
That part of the W2 of the NEµ of Sec. 27, Township 29,
Range 22, described as follows: Commencing at the north-
east corner of the SWµ of the NEµ of said Sec. -27, Town-

record fee owners, the sum of $21,650.00, said sum to be paid to
the aforesaid vendors from Fund 9768-501-003, upon their furnishing
evidence of good marketable title in the afoi�esaid vendors, and the
, total payment to be made upon tender by said par-ties of appropriate
deeds conveying title to said property to the City of Saint Pau1.

_ The owners of the above described land, Donald W. and Betty Ma�
Lynch, have accepted an offer tendered them by the City in the
.amount of $21,650.00 as compensation for the sale of the land to
the City. .
_ This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the '
—Eity of Sai.nt Paul for the Roosevelt Homes Playground site. In
view of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said
price being the appraised fair and reasonable market value
thereof, we, the Committee on Lands, do i^ecommend to the Council
of the City of Saint Pau1 that it authorize the purchase of said
land in lieu of condemnation proceedings at the price of
$21,650.00, as negotiated with the owners.
