This matter was considered by the Board of Zoning at a publ.ic hearing hel.d on Septe�ber 1.9� 1968. The staff reported -Chat the Council had relaxed the density and �^ound covex�age requirements for this site in June of ].966 in order to a].1.ow construction of a 62-unit apartment buil.ding. However, a paz+king ].ot permit application had not been submit�Ced at that time. � It was a].so noted that the Traffic Engineer� in a letter dated September 6� 1968� dbjects to the proposed ma.neuvering of cars in the �lley (.see attached le�Ctez�). The Traffic Engineer also objects to the close proximi�y of the basement parking driveway to Snelling Avenue. It was also pointed out that, ].) the p].an provides no 8' buffer at the south edge of the parking ].ot as required by the Zoning Code, 2) when ah appeal. to relax densi�y was being considered at the April 21, 1966 Zoning Board meeting, the appel].ant's attorney sfiated that '�most of the parking would be within the structure!', 3) it appears- that the interior parking spaces a�e ti�ht in at least one area, and 4) maneuvering in the a�].].ey wil]. prevent use of service trucks in the alley.
