. WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the
Purchasing Agent, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Commissioner
of Parks, Recreation, and Public Buildings, of the City of Saint
Paul, has secured an ao eement for the purchase of that certain
property described as follows:
Lots 8 and 9, Collins Subdivision of Lots 8 and 9 of ,
IrvineTs Addition o�' Outlots to the City of St. Pau1, acc. , �
and
WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the �
proposed Collins-DeSoto Playground, and the price at which the ,
property may be purchased is at the total amount of $13,000.00, a
fair and reasonable price according to the appraisal obtained by
the Committee on Lands; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said
property at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of
-.-said Committee submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it

_°; R.ESOLVED, That purs.uant to Section 303 .of the Charter of the City of _
Saint Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Pau1 does hereby authorize
the purchase of the land described as:
Lots 8 and 9, Collins Subdivision of Lots 8 and 9 of
IrvineTs Addition of Outlots to the City of St. Paul, acc. ,
RESOLVED Further that the proper city officials are hereby
authorized and directed to pay to Clark D. Shaughnessy, vendor of
said property, the swn of $13,000.00, said sum to be paid to the
aforesaid vendor from Fund 9768-501-001 upon his furnishing evidence
of good marketable title in the aforesaid vendor, and the total pay-
ment to be made upon tender by said party of appropriate deeds con-
veying title to said property to the City of Saint Paul.

has negotiated to purchase certain property described as !

of St. Paul, acc. - �'

The owner of the above described lands, Clark D. Shaughnessy, ,
has accepted an offer tendered him by the City in the amount of
$13,000.00 as compensation for the sale of the said lands to �
the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the
City of St. Paul for the proposed Collins DeSoto Playground. In
view of the reasonable price for which it� can be purchased, said
price being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof,
we, the Commi.ttee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the City
of St. Paul that it authorize the' purchase of said land in lieu of '
condemnation proceedings at the price of $13,000.00 as negotiated
with the owner.
