WHEREAS, NP� rthern States Power Company, on August l, 1968,
filed with the City of Saint Paul a petition requesting an
increase in rates for electric sernice customers in the City of
Saint Paul purs�iant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 11762 of
the City of Sai�t Paul, adopted and approved June 21, 1960, the
proposed schedule ot electric utility rates to be�charged by said
Companp being set forth in the aforesaid petition; and
WHEREAS, t� e Council of the City of Saint Paul is presently
holding a rate earing relative to Northern States -Power Company's
petition for an, increase in gas utility rates within� the City of
Saint Paul, which petition was filed on May 23, 1968; and
� WHEREAS, the next date set for continuation of such recessed
hearing in theigas rate matter before the Council is the 7th day
of October, 196.8; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, �y the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that pur- � �
suant to the provisions of the aforementioned Ordinance No. 11762,
this Council h�reby defers initiation of sueh proposed rate charges
by said Company pending a review of the operations of said Company
under the ator mentioned permit ordinance and a public hearing
relative to th petition for such proposed rate structure and
determination y this Council as to the merits of the requested
rate increase, the date tor such hearing to be fixed by this Council
at the tiune se for reconvening the recessed hearing on Northern
^ States Power Cc�mpany's petition for increase in gas utility rates-within
� the City of Saint Pa�l pursuant to the pronisions of Ordinance No. 11761
of the City of Saint Paul, adopted and approved June 21, 1960, the
& date ot such recessed hearing being the 7th day of October, 1968.
