S, The Committee on Lands, composed oF the Mayor, the
Purchasing Aoent, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Commissioner of
w . Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings of the City of �5aint Paul, has
�'�' secured a� agreement for the purchase of that certain property described
' " as follows;
' - Northerly forty (40) feet of Lot three (3) , Block seven (7) ,
MerriamTs Rearrangement of Merriam Park (as to Blocks 7, 8, 9,
10, & 16) acc. ; and
WI�REAS, The property described therein is necessary for the ,
expansion of Merriam Terrace Park, and the price at which the property
may be purchas�d is at the total amount of $7,500.00, a fair and reasonable �
price according to the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and

WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase o:F said property. ,
at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee
submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it ���
�� RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of �'�• "�''
Saint Pau1, the Council of the City of Saint Pau.l does hereby authorize
the purchase of the land described as:

and directed to pay to I�amu Shijo, record fee owner, the sum of $7,500.00
said sum to be paid to the aforesaid vendor, from Fund 9767-501-004,
upon his furnishing evidence of good marketable title in the aforesaid
vendor, and the total payment to be made upon tender by said party of
appropriate deeds conveying title to" said property to the City of Saint Paul.

Gentlemen:
The Ci-ty of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer,
has negotiated to purchase certain property described as
. follows:
Northerly forty (40) feet of Lot three (3) ,
Block seven (7) , Merriam's Rearrangement of
Merriam Park (as=to�Blocks 7, 8, 9, 10, & 16) .
The owner of the above described land, Isamu Shijo, has accepted
an offer tendered hi.m by the City in the amount of $7,500.00 as
compensation for the sale of the said land to the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the
City of Saint Pau1 for the expansion of Merriam Terrace Park,
In view of the reasonable p�ice for which it can be purchased,
said price being the appraised fair and reasonable market
valu� thereof, we, the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the
, Council of the City of Saint Paul that it authorize the pur-
chase of said land in lieu of condemnation proceedings at the
price of $7,500.00 as negotiated with the owner.
