WHEREAS, The State Legislature in the 1957 Session did pass
a.n. act described as Laws of Minnesota 1g57, Chapter 812, which
law created new powers and du.ties in addition to those duties
already possessed by the Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul ,
said powers a.nd duties consi,sting of the creation and development ..
of industrial development dis.tricts within the City of Saint Paul . "
by such Port A�}thority in line with the newly added duties a.nd
responsibilities referred to , a.n.d specifically gra.nting authority
to said Port Authority to make a budget for its operations in the
industrial development field under said new Act, and granting the
power to said Port Authority to request the City Council to levy
such taxes for such purposes; and
WHEREAS, The Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul has
informed the Coun.cil that it has prepared a.nd made its budget for
industrial development operations in 196g under and pursua.nt to
the provisions of the Laws of the State of Minnesota 1957, Chapter
812 , a.n.d that said budget for industrial development is in the
a,mount of �95 ,000.00; or such amount as will not exceed 35�100 of
one mill upon the dollar of the assessed valuation of all ta,gable
property in said City, egcluding money and credits; and �
' -� –' WHEREAS, The said Port Authority has filed with this Coun.cil
a certified copy of the resolution passed by said Port Authority
requesting that under saic� law the City Coun.cil levy as taxes for
the benefit of and egpenditure for industrial development by said
Port Authority of said a.mount, a.n.d that there be imposed upon the
property legally _taxable in the City a levy sufficient to produce
the a,mount of �95,000.00 or such amoun.t as will not exceed 35/100
of one mill upon the dollar of the assessed valuation of all
ta,gable property in said City, excluding money and credits; now,

RESOLVED, That un.der a.n.d pursua.n.t to said law referred to ,
Laws of Min.nesota 1957, Chapter 812, and for the purpose of
making availabl,e said sum of �g5 ,000.00 for the support of the
industrial development program of said Port Authority of the City
of 8aint Paul a.nd subject to the ma.ximum legal tax levy provided
in said law, there be and is hereby levied for the support of
said Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul on all property
ta.gable therefor in said City, a tax� for the year 1968, collectible
in 196g, sufficient to produce the a.mount of �95 ,000.00, or such
amoun.t as will not exceed 35�100 of one mill upon the dollar of
the assessed valuation of all taxable property in said City, eg-
cluding money and credits as provided by law, as set out in the
budget of the Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul a.n.d duly
made of record in the minutes of the meeting of said Port Authority
of the City of Saint Paul; and be it
FURTFIER RESOLVED, That the..City Clerk is directed to certify
�,a copy of the tax levy as aforesaid for the year 1968, collectible
_ in the year 196g to .the -County-Auditor of Ra,msey Coun.ty, immedi=`�
