WHEREAS, The Mi�esota Offiee Building, through its
managers, Clapp-Thomssen Company, has requested permission
to construct a three- inch steam line and a 3/4 inch con-
densate return pipe in, under and across the public alley
in Block 24, City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, The construction of the steam line and con-
densate return pipe is a matter of extreme urgency and
necessity to said Minnesota Office Building; and
WHEREAS, An ordinance, C. F. No. ��� "�� -
granting permission to said Minnesota Offiee Building to
proceed with the construc�tion of the said steam line and
condensate return pipe has been prepared andS�ntr�1968d
to the Council of the City of Saint Paul on t' ,
and has been read befo s ouncil, with eventual adoption
set to occur on S�� 1 ���6� , now, . therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That in view of the extreme urgency of the
request, •the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby author-
ized and directed to issue a permit to Minnesota Office
Building for the construction of a three inch steam -line
and a 3/4 i:nch condensate return pipe in, under and across
the public alley in Block 24, City of Saint Paul, subject
� to the same conditions d re uirements as set out in the
ordinance, C. F. No. . , pending before the
Council of the City of aint aul, informal approval of
said construction being hereby given in anticipation of
the ,final adoption of said ordinance.

ENGINEERING RECO�iENDATION `
August 28, 1968
The Associated Mechanical Services, Inc. requested
, permission to construct this steam line in the alley
bounded by Cedar Street, Minnesota Street, 4th Street and
Kellogg Boulevard.
This steam pipe is to run from the Minnesota Building
to the Travelers Insurance Building.
The Department of Public Works reco�ends that the
Ordinance and Resolution be passed.
