WHEREAS, The Civic Center Commission, under the authority ,
of Chapter 459, Laws of Minnesota for 1967, has recommended
that the City Council authorize the final plans for the New
Arena for the Civic Center; and .
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul, pursuant
to resolution, C. F. 234691, approved August • 17, 1g67, authorized
and directed the proper City �officials to enter into and execute
onlbehalf of the City of Saint Paul the Architectural Service
Agreement between Convention Center Architects and Engineers,
' Inc. , and the City of Saint Paul, executed the 25th day of
August, 1967; and
. WHEREAS, the Coun.cil of the City of Saint Paul, pursuant
to resolution of Council, C. F'. 238977, June 7, 1968 approved
planning documents submitted by Convention Center Architects
an�d Engineers, Inc. , as the basis -for detailed planning of the
New Arena for the Civic^Center dated February 10, -1968;
� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City offi-
cials are hereby authorized and directed to egecute Addendum B
tolthe contract dated August 25, 1967, a copy of which is attached .
hereto and �:n�ox+porated herein, by and between Convention (lenter �
Arehitects and Engifneers,� Inc. , and" the City ofTSaint Paul,
notif�ing said Convention Center Architects and Engineers, Inc. ,
to �proceed with the final plan preparation for the construction
of the New Arena for the Civic Center �as provided in Comptroller' s
Agreement � No. 1820, Article XVI, paragraph 5. ,

In accordance with Article XVI of said agreement , the City
of Saint Paul hereby spec�ifically authorizes Convention Ceiiter
Arihitects and Engineers , Inc. , to proceed �,rith the final plans
foi the construction of Sub-project (2) New Arena for Civic

Ceiter (such project formerly known as the "New Arena for Civic
Center with parking under and inclucling tunnel connection to the
f
Eagle Street Ramp" ) .
The maximum amouiit due said associate architect for these
services prior to atvard of contract shall be ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-

SIi TT30USAND FIFTY-SEVEN AND 75�100 DOLLARS (�186, 057. 75) , which
s i shall apply against 75°fo of the total sum which may become
due said associate architect with respect to the construction of

the New Arena for Civic Center. _ .

St. Paul Civic Center Program" dated June 7, 1968 as submitted

In addition to the Nes� Arena as outlined in the proposal of
Jlne 7 , 1968, a copy of �ahich is attached hereto and incorporated '
h�iein, said architect is authorized to prepare• plans to incor-
porate a second vehicular entrance to the Arena at an estimated
additional cost of �40, 000. 00. Associate architect also is _
dlrected to incorporate in such final plans an enclose�d pedestrian
clnnection between the New Arena and the proposed Eagle Stree�

Parking Ramp. (Construction costs of this connection are not
iricluded in the proposed program dated June '7, 1968. )

Said architect is hereby clirected to proceed �vith the pre-
paration o� a mas�;er site plan to be sub�iiiti;ed to the Conuuission

wh�eh will shoia the relationship of plannecl ancl existing Civie
Center facilities to eacli other ancl to the to�al site and to
prlseni; and proposed street programs serving the same. '
The final plans for tlie Arena shall be submitted to the Civic
Ce�ter Coniuiission and the Council of the City of Saint Paul in
ac�ordance with the terms and condii;ions of the above referenced
ag eement dated August 25, 1967.
Associate architect hereby agrees that such services as pro-
vided aUove shall be considered a part of the basic services of
thl architect in accordance with Article III of the Architectural
Se�vice Agreement of August 25, 1g67.
The above sum of �186, 057. 75 shall be the amount due said
arihitect for the services as provided herein and as required
under the terms of that agreement dated August 25, 1967, includ-
ing those services required to be rendered up to the time of the

receipt and the opening of bids . Said amount shall be paid
,�
molthly for the services performed in proporiio� to the services
which are necessary to comp�lete the final plan�s .
