WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the
Purchasing Agent, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Corr�nissioner of
Public Works of the City of Saint Pau1, has secured an agreement for
the purchase of that certain property described as follows:
the north 33 1/3 feet of Lots 11 and 12, Block 20, except the
west 30 feet of Lot 11, Robertson and Van EttenTs addition to
Saint Pau1, acc. ;
WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the
opening and widening of Marion Street from University Avenue to Como
Avenue, and the price at which the property may be purchased is at the
total amount of $12,350.00, a fair and reasonable price according to
the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said
property at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said
Committee submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the
City of Saint• Pau1, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby
authorize the purchase of the land described as:
the north 33 1/3 feet of Lots 11 and 12, Block 20, except the .
west 30 feet of Lot 11, Robertson and Van Etten's addition to
Saint Paul, acc.
RESOLVED Further that the. proper city officials are hereby
authorized and directed to pay to Vera R. Sanft, record fee owner, the
sum of $12,350.00, said sum to be paid to the aforesaid vendor from
PIR Fund Code 6000, to be reimbursed from 1968 M.S.A. Fund, Project
No. 64-160-05, upon her furnishing evidence of good marketable title
in the aforesaid vendor, and the total payment to be made upon tender
by said party of appropriate deeds conveying title to said property
to the City of Saint Pau1,

� Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Pau1, acting through its Valuation Engineer,
has negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:
The north 33 1/3 feet of Lots 11 and 12, Block 20, except
the west 30 feet of Lot 11, Robertson and Van EttenTs
addition to Saint Pau1, acc.
The owner of the above described lands, Vera R. Sanft, has
accepted an offer tendered her by the City in the amou.nt of
$12,350.00 as compensation for the sale of the said land to
the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the
City of Saint Paul for right-of-way for the opening and widening
of Marion Street from University Avenue to Como Avenue. In view
of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said price
being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof, we,
the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the City
of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu
of the condemnation proceedings at the price of $12,350.00, as nego-
tiated with the owners.
