RESOLVED, That the Purchasing Agent be and he is hereby
authorized to purchase a pair of young gori.11as from the Inter-
national Animal Exchange at a purchase price of $9, 750. 00, plus
$1, 316. 25 for insurance at 13 1/2% for a period of thirty (30) days
from the time of arrival at Como Zoo, or a total cost of $11, 066. 25;
said purchase to be made without competitive bids pursuant to Section
293 of the City Charter of St. Paul; bids for gorillas being impracticable.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that resolution C. F. No. 239398
which was approved July 10, 1968, is hereby rescinded.
