WHEREAS, There is need for coordination of transportation
planning and programming within, and for, the Twin Cities
Metropolitan Area; and
WHEREAS, The Federal Highway Act of 1962 requires a
continuing, cooperative, comprehensive transportation planning
process in metropolitan areas.
WHEREAS, St. Paul is a part of the Twin Cities Metropolitan
Area and much of the transportation planning and development
activity outside the City has great impact upon the proper
development of the City, it is vital that St. Paul join with others
in making decisions concerning the development of transportation in
the Mefiropolitan Area;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT St. Paul intends to cooperate
in the proposed Joint Transportation Program for the Twin Cities
Metropolitan Area.
