' M' t ��4� � � OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK FILE � # COU CIL SOLUTION-GE ERAL FORM PRESENTED BY - ,��� COMMISSIONE �-6' DATF WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent, and the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings, of the City of Saint Pau1, has secured an agreement for the purchase of that certain property described as follows: Lot 3 and the west 30 feet of Lot 2, Block 16, Merriams Rearrangement of Merriam Park (as to Blocks 7, 8, 9, 10 & 16) except that part of said Lot 3 described as follows: Commen- cing at a point on the south line of said Lot 3 located 19,05 feet west of the southeast corner thereof; thence running north parallel with the east line of said Lot 3, 35 feet to a point; running thence west parallel with the south. line of said Lot 3, 57.95 feet more or less to a point on the southeasterly line of Terrace Park Avenue, running thence southerly along said south- easterly line of said Terrace Park Avenue 71 feet more or less to the southwest corner of said Lot 3; thence running east along the south line of said Lot 3, 118.95 feet to the place of beginning, acc. The owners of the above described lands, Herbert D. and Helen A. Long,have accepted an offer tendered them by the City in the amount of $22,250.00 as compensation for the sale of the said land to the C ity. This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the City of Saint Pau1 for the expansion of Merriam Terrace Park. In view of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said price being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof, we, the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the City of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu of condemnation proceedings at the price of $22,250.00 as negotiated with the owners.
