, The ittee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the
P asing Agent, and the Commissioner of Public Works of the City
of aint Paul, has secured an agreement for the purchase of that
certain property described as follows:
The North Twenty (20) feet of the South fif�y-five (55) .
feet of Lot Twelve (12) , Block �,venty-Nine (29}, Robertson
and Van EttenTs Addition to Saint Paul, Ramsey County,
Minnesota, acc.
WI-�REAS, The property described therein is necessary for the
opening and widening of Mari'on Street from University Avenue to
Como Avenue, and the price at which the property may be purchased
is at the total amount of $4,850.00, a fair and reasonable price
according to the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and

WHEREAS, Said''L�ommittee has recommended the purchase of said
property'at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of
said Committee submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it • �
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the
City of Saint Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Pau1 does •
�-hereby authorize the purchase of the land described as:

authorized and directed to pay to Rose Harvey, record fee owner,
the sum of $4,850.00, said sum to be paid to the aforesaid vendor
from PIR Fund Code 6000, to be reimburs��,d- from 1968 M.S.A. Fund,
Project No. 64-160-05, upon her furnishing evidence of good market-
. able title in the aforesaid vendor, and the total payment to be
made upon tender by said party of appropriate deed conveying title
to said property to the City of Saint Pau1.

Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer,
has negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:

The North Twenty (20) feet of the South fifty-five (55)
feet of Lot Twelve (12) , Block Twenty-Nine (2�, Robertson
and Van Etten's Addition to Saint Paul, Ramsey County,
Minnesota, acc.
The owner of the above described lands, Rose Harvey, has accepted
- • an offer tendered her�by the City in the amount of $4,850.00 as
compensation for the sale of the said land to the City.
This property, �including land and buildings, is needed by the City
of Saint Paul for right-of-way for the opening and widening of
Marion Street from University Avenue to Como Avenue. In view of
the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said price
being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof, we,
the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the City
of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu
of condemnation proceedings at the price of $4,850.00 as nego- ,
tiated with the owner.
