WHEREAS, pursuant to Council File No. 237168, approved
Februa�y 15, 1968, a contract was entered into with Pierre �
Thibault (Canada) Ltd. , Pierreville, Quebec, Canada, for the
purchase of one 100-foot hydraulic aerial ladder, as more
particularly described in Requisition No. 24233, Code 0142-803,
Formal Bid No. 2995, in the amount of $34,104.20; and
WF�REA5, said contract called for the furnishing of .a
100-foot ladder made of steel; and
. � WI�REAS, there has now been developed by said Pierre Thibault
�f"•` (Canada)"Ltd. a stainless steel ladder, which ladder exceeds the
standard`ladder ' in critical areas of safety as well as convenience
and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the Council i.s desirous of obtaining the best possible
equipment in view of recent mishaps involving aerial ladders; and
WHEREAS, said stainless steel ladder can be furnished by Pierre
Thibault (Canada) Ltd. at an additional total cost of• $2,000.00, it
` � appearing that said price is fair and reasonable; now, therefore, be
• it ,
RESOLVED, That the proper City officials are hereby authorized
and directed to modify said contract to include said stainless steel
ladder for the total additional cost of $2,000.00.
