WI-iEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the
Purchasing Agent, and the Commissioner of Public Works of the City
of Saint Paul, has secured an agreement for the purchase of that
" certain property described as follows:
The South thirty-three and one-third (S. 33 1/3) feet of the
North sixty-six and two-thirds (N. 66 2/3) feet, except the
West thirty (W. 30) feet of Lots eleven (11) and twelve (12) ,
Block twenty (20) , Robertson and Van EttenTs addition to
Saint Paul, acc.
WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the .
opening and widening of Marion Street from University Avenue to Como
Avenue, and the price at which the property may be purchased is at
the total amount of $10,700.00, a fair and reasonable price accor-
ding to the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said
property at the price stated above, as eviaenced by the letter of
said Committee submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the
City of Saint Pau1, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby .
authorize the purchase of the land described as:

RESOLVED Further that the proper city officials are hereby
authorized and directed to pay to John L. and Lois G. Johnson, record
fee owners, and Lloyd and Maxine Murray, contract for deed vendees,
the sum of $10,700.00, said sum to be paid to the aforesaid vendors
from PIR Fund Code 6000, to be reimbursed from 1968 M.S.A. Fund,
Project No. 64-160-05, upon theis furnishing evidence of good market- � -
able title in the aforesaid vendors, and the total payment to be made
upon tender by said parties of appropriate deeds conveying title to

Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer, � ,%
has negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:
The South thirty-three and one-third (S. 33 1/3) feet of
the North sixty-six and two-thirds (N. 66 2/3) feet, except
the West thirty (W. 30) feet of Lots eleven (11) and twelve
(12) , Block twenty (20) , Robertson and Van EttenTs addition
to Saint Paul, acc.
The owners of the above described lands, Lloyd and Maxine
Murray, have accepted an offer tendered them by the City in the .
amount of $10,700.00 as compensation for the sale of the said '
land to the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the
City of Saint Paul for right-of-way for the opening and widening
of Marion Street from University Avenue to Como Avenue. In ,
view of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said
price being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof,
we, the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the
City of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land in
lieu of condemnation proceedings at the price of $10,700.00, as
negotiated with the owners.
