WHEREAS, the Capital City Partnership is donating a group of Peanuts character statues
to be placed in public parks within Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, three statues have previously been placed in Landmark Plaza; and
WHEREAS, Yhe Capital City Partnership has offered to install and maintain two
compinnentary statues in Rice Park, all at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, the work will be done to the specifications approved by the City and either
be performed by a licensed, insured and bonded contractor, or by persons covered by liability
insurance and other appropriate insurance coverage; and
WHEREAS, the Capital City Partnership has also agreed to the develo�ment of a plan far
capitalization and ongoing maintenance of the sculptures;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul
12 hereby authorizes the proper City officials to enter into agreements with the Capital City
13 Partnership for the installation and maintenance of the sculptures; and
14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of 5aint Paul hereby accepts
15 the generous donation of the sculptures, as well as materials and labor for its installation from the
16 Capital City Partnership to install the sculpture and Yhanks them for their gift.
