I WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council, by its resolution 04-261, authorized the City of Saint Paul, Pazks and Recreation to
2 submit an application to the MN Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for a Federal Recreation Trail Progam Grant; and

4 WHEREAS, the DNR has notified Parks and Recreation that they are eligible to receive two matching �ants: $31,000 for the
5 purpose of renovating existing trails in Marydale Pazk, and $32,000 for renovating existing trails along Furness Pazkway; and
6
4 WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation is willing to accept these grants as partial Cunding for these uail projects, and able to provide
5 the required $63,000 match using currently budgeted Citywide Path and Trail (C04-3T154) funds; and
6
7 WHEREAS, per the terms of the grant program, Pazks and Recreafion agrees to provide maintenance to said trails for no less
8 than 20 years; and
10 WHEREAS, the fiscal agent for the purpose of these grants will be:

13 AND WHEREAS, Pazks and Recreation will provide consuuction management and implementation services for said �ant
14 upon the amendment of the 2004 Capital Improvement Budget; and

16 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the
17 Mayor, and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $63,000 is available for
18 appropriation in the 2004 Capital Lnprovement Budget, and said 2004 budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by
19 Council, is hereby further amended as follows:
