• The Welfare Budget Advisory Committee, at its meeting on
, May 23, recommended the approval of the employment of a half-
time position of dermatologist at the Saint Paul-Ramsey Hospital.
The position would be filled by a doctor who is a Clinical As-
sistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota
at an annual salary of $10,000. There is sufficient money in the
salary account to take care of this amount because of other un-
filled positions. .

Dear Mr. Dalglish: . ,
The Ramsey County Welfare Board, at its meeting on May 14, 1968, voted
to authorize the employment of a half-time position of dermatologist at
the�� Saint Paul-Ramsey Hospital, subject to the approval of the Welfare
' � Budget Advisory Committee. The position would be filled by a doctor who `
is ;a Clinical' Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of
. Minneso-ta. The annual salary is $10,000. This doctor would supervise
th � residents, interns, and students training in dermatology in both the
in patient and out-patient departments at the hospital. . -
Although this position was not specifically included in the number of
. employees approved in the 1968 budget, Dr. Francis Tiffany,� Chief of
Staff, and Mr. Otto Janke, Superintendent of the Hospital, state that
� � there is sufficient money in the salary account because of other unfilled .'
positions to meet this cost. Dr. Manual Jaffe is available for appoint-
ment upon approval by the Welfare Budget Advisory Committee. •

T'he Ramsey County Welfare Board, at its meeting on May 14, 1968, voted
to authorize the employment of two additional prograiraners for the Saint
Paul-Ramsey Hospital, subject to the approval of� the Welfare Budget '
� Advisory Committee. The recommendation to employ two additional prograrr�ners
was made to facilitate the development� of hospital statistics and fiscal
and medical information programs. �
We urge that this matter be presented to the Welfare .Budget Advisory
Committee as soon as possible, since the need is urgent.
