Attention: Mr. Edrmuid W. Kartak
Dear Corranissioner Peterson:
The Interna.tional Institute of St.Paul once again would like to request t,he vacat-
ing of Exchange Street between Kellogg Boulenard and lth Street on Saturd.ay, June
8th, from noon until midnight for our annual Street Party.
,
In addition we would like to request the vacating of Kellogg Boulevard from
Auditorium Street to Seven Corners for the same hours. The attached copy of a let-
ter from the Wasserman Productions, #nc. will explainthe reason for this addi-
tional request. Mr. M. J. Heldridge, who is the Northern Division man, ager for
Northwestern Bell Telephone here in StPaul, has been in consultation with us and
has assured us of their cooperation.
In view of the publicity that will come to the City of St.Paul through the filming
of our Street Party and the national televising thereof on the Telephone Hour, we
trust that you wi11 look favorably upon our requests.
We have consulted with the Municipal Auditorium and at this writing there are no
events scheduled. We also hane checked the schedule for the Twins Baseball and
they w.i.11 be playing out of towr that weekend. We have consulted with Chief Rowan
of the Traffic Control Division of the St.Paul Police Department and they have
offered their cooperation. -
We trust that we may have an. early favorable reply from your department.
Sincerely yours,
=
