WHEREAS, The Council is greatly saddened by the -tragic
death of Senator Robert F. Kennedy; and
WHEREAS, The Council desires all citizens of Saint Paul
to join with it in observing a period of mourning for this great
American; and
WHEREAS, Sunday, June 9, �g68, has been designated by
President Lyndon B. Johnson as a National day of mourning,
Now,_ Therefore, be it
RESOLVED� By the Council of the City of Saint Paul , that
Sunday, June g, is hereby designated as a day of mourning for
Senator Robert F. Kennedy within the City of Saint Paul ; and .
be it
FIIRTHER RESOLVED, That the flags on all City buildings
be lowered to half staff and remain in said position until the
,�
burial of Senator Kennedy; and be it
' y � FURTHER RESOLVED� That all citizens of Saint Paul are �
urged to fly their flags at half staff during the same period;
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED� That the City Clerk is directed to
forward a copy of this Resolution, with the sincere condolences
of the Mayor and Council, to the widow and parents of Senator
" Kennedy.
