1 WHEREAS, Paul W. Johanson, owner of a home at 1234 Mcknight Road South in
2 Maplewood, has requested permission to connect his properiy to the St. Paul sanitary sewer
3 located in Mclaught Road because his septic system has failed and Maplewood does not
4 have a sewer available to serve his property, and
6 WHEREAS, Section 79.01 of the I,egislative Code states that the before any property
7 located outside the city limits connects its sanitary sewer to the St. Paul's sewer system,
8 authorization must be obtained by resolution from the St. Paul City Council, and
9
10 WHEREAS, Paul W. Johanson, has agreed to pay all costs of publication necessary far this
11 resolution, hire an approved House Drain Contractor, obtain a Saint Paul Sewer Utility
12 Permit, pay an Advance Assessment for the sewer connection, and pay the Sewer Availability
13 Charge fee to the City of Mapiewood, and

15 WIIEREAS, The City of Maplewood has stated that it is willing to allow Mr Johanson's
16 request, and in order to do so, has requested that the St. Paul City Council authorize the
17 connection, and

19 WIIEREAS, The D'uector of the Department of Public Works recommends that the City
20 Council authorize the said sanitary sewer connecrion, subject to the terms and conditions set
21 forth in Chapter 79 of the Legislarive Code and the concuirence by the City of Maplewood.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paui does
authorizeand_permitPauLW.7ohanson_toconnect_his_property_at_1234McknightRoad____ ___ _ _ __-
South to the Saint Paul sanitary sewer system, subject to the terms and condirions of Chapter
79, as amended and also subject to the additional condition that the property shall be
disconnected from the Saint Paul sewer system and connected to the Maplewood system
upon the construction by or for the City of Maplewood of a pubiic sanitary sewer abutting
this property.

Paul Johanson, the owner of a home at 1234 McKnight Road in Maplewood wishes to connect his house drain to a public
sewer to eliminate his failed septic system. The City of Maplewood dces not have a sewer avai{able to serve him, but Sa+nt
Paul does. Maplewood has agreed to allow this connection to our sewer. Section 79.01 of the our Legislative Code requires
that the City Councii authorize connections from properties outside the city limits.
