+ WHEREAS, the Department of Fire and Safety Services has received a grant of $44,045.00 from the Federal Emergency Management

a impaired and continue to fund the Risk Watch injury prevention program, and

s WHEREAS, $21,250.00 will be used to purchase and distribute strobe smoke detectors to the hearing impaired and $22,795.00 will be
s used to implement the Risk Watch injury preventio� program for five high risk schools, and

e WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is required to pay a 30% matching fund contribution of $13,213.50, and
�o WHEREAS, the Department of Fire and Safety Services was given approval in Council Resolution 03-1059 to apply for this grant and
ii contribute matching funds, and
�a WHEREAS, financing and spending plans have not been established forthe grant received, and
,a
�s WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint PaW, does certify that there are available for
is appropriations $44,045.00 in funds in excess of those estimated in the 2004 budget; and, in accordance with Sedion 10.07.1 of the City

The Department of Fixe and Safety Services has received a grant af $44,045.00 to purchase strobe smoke detectors for the hearing
impaued and continue to fund the Risk Watch injury prevenrion program. The grant includes a 70% federal match of $30,831.50 and the
City is Lequued to pay a 30%matching fund conhibution of $13,213.50.
