WAEREAS, The Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company,
by letter dated April 8, �.g68, has indicated to the C�.ty of
Saint Paul, pertinent to the City Employe-Pay Dependents ' Group
• Life Insurance, Policy No. 2881-G, with said Company, that the
experience� under the aforesaid employe-pay group life coverage
' , has resulted in a dividend account balance in the amount of
�13, 995.00; and
WHEREAS, The aforesaid information was p�esented to the
Health and Welfare and Insurance Committee ,meeting of April 24,
1968, and the Committee, by motion unan.imously adopted by the
members present, recommends to tlie City Council that said
Council authorize by resolution that a portion of the aforesaid
dividend be left on deposit with The Minnesota Mutual Life
Insurance Company to draw interest during the period from �
January 1, 1g68 through December 31, �968, and that a portion
thereof equal to �0 percent of the annual pre mium paid by
each eligible employee during the past policy year, in the
approximate amount of �15, 000, be paid to those persons under
said group who were premium-paying insureds on December 31,
1967, and who have been continuously insured for four months
prior to December 31, 1967, or who have been continuously
.,� insured during the a.n.niversary year to a date at which they
� o wereccompelled to reture by virtue of man�.atory retirement
�. . provisions of existent law; now, therefore, be it
° � RESOLVED� That effective as of January 1, 1968, the
o � aforesaid 50 percent of the premiums paid by each such insured
�: Q described aforesaid, during the period from March 1, 1967, to
� m December 31, �g67, the total amount of all such refun.ds to
c� � eligible City employees , including those employees covered
' during the anniversary year who were compelled to retire by
.� � virtue of mandatory retirement provisions of egistent law,
beang in the approgimate amount of �15,000, be paid to those
` � employees described in the preceding paragraph of this Resolu-
tion, such distribution to be made by The Minnesota Mutual .,Life
In.surance Company as soon as conveniently possible ; and be it
