WHEREAS , Richard E. Johnson, an employee of the Department
of Public Safety, Bureau of Pol.ice, was injured in a third party .
accident on September 5 � 1965 , while engaged in the performance
of his duties ; and
WHEREAS , the City has incurred medical expense in the amount
of $276.10 therefor, plus payment for 15$ permanent disability to
the left shoulder, and employee was disabled from work for a
period of time , being paid salary in the amount of $1,953 .20
for which the City may claim credit at the rate of $45.00 per
week; and
WHEREAS , a compromise settlement has been negotiated between
said employee and the othe� party involved in the accident, which
provides for a net settlement to the City in the amount of $1,052.33
after deductions for proportionate attorney's fees and costs; now,
theref ore , be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby authorized
to accept in full, final and complete settlement of its claim
herein the sum of $1,052.33 , and to execute any necessary releases
therefor�, and to endorse Check No. 83 810 87 and Check No. 83 810 89
of Travelers Insurance Company; that of said sum, $630.00 is thereby
credited to the Police Salary Fund and $422.33 to the Workmen's
Compensation Fund.
