WHEREAS , William T. Ball� an empl.oyee of the Department
of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings , Park Police,
iaas injured in a third party accident on November 30 , 1.964,
while engaged in the performance of his duties ; and
WHEREAS , the City has incurred medical expense in the
amount of $6 ,016 .37 therefor, and employee was disabled from
work for a period of time being paid salary in the amount of
$1,989.00 ; and
WHEREAS , a compromise settlement has been negotiated
between said employee and the other party involved in said .
accident, which provides for a net settlement to the City '
in the amount of $5 ,303.37 after deductions for costs and
_ attorneq's fees; now, therefore, be it
' _._ .,. RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby
authorized to,accept the sum of $5 ,303.37 in full, final
and complete settlement of its claim herein, and to endorse
Draft No. 981201 of Mutual Service Casualty in the amount of
$30 ,000,00 , out of which the City will aecept $5 ,303.37 and
issue a draft in the amount of $24�696 .63 , payable to William 4 _
T. Ball and Robert J. McGuigan, his attorney; that of said '� . "'
sum, $1,325. 84 is thereby credited to the Park Police Salary �� '
Fund and $3 ,977.53 to the Workmen's Compensation Fund. ' > •
