• , THE COUNCIL OF TFIE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section l. That the Zoning Code, Chapters 60 to 64,
inclusive of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to Use
Districts, Height Districts and Rezoning of certain properties in
the City of Saint Paul, as a.mended, be and the sa.me is hereby
further a.mended so as to rezone the �ollowing described property
from "A" Residence District to "C" Residence District, to–wit:
Lot 16, Block 4, Rice Street Villas;
s tuate on property located at the northeast cobner of Galtier
S�reet and West Idaho Avenue in the City�of Saint Paul.
Section 2. This ordin nce shall take effect and be in
force thirty (30) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication.

Dear Sir:
' This is in regards to the� petition of Gerald J. Okoneski �to rezone from
"A" Residence to "C" Residence property located at the northeast corner of
' Galtier Street and W. Idaho Avenue. This property is further de'scri33ed as
Lot 16, Block 4; Rice Street Villas. The appl:icant propoees to develop this
property for parking and play area for the apartment building presently being
constructed to the east.
. This matter was considered by the. Board of Zoning_at a public hearing
held on March 21, 1968. The staff reported that the:petition had been declared
sufficient with the owners of 8 of a possible �11 _(72�) ,tracts haying signed
the petition. Area zoning consists of "A" Residence to the north, west, and south,
and "C" Residence to the east. Existing area development includes. farm land
to the west, a new apartment building to the east, a single family home to the
� south, and' vacant wooded land to the north. Adjoining streets and alleys are
platted but not graded. A petition to rezone two lots adjoining to the north
is now being processed by the Board of Zoning.
Mrs. Peter Linder appeared in regard to the petition. She said that she
owned the property to the west and was pleased with the�; type of recent
apartment development in the area. However, she said that a fence should be
constructed along Idaho Avenue to protect children.
The Board of Zoning recommended approval of the rezoning of the subject
property from "A" Residence to "C" Residence. •

declared the petition sufficient with the owners of 8 of a possible 11
(72�) tracts having signed the petition.
B. HISTORY: None for this site. Adjacent areas have been rezoned in the past
• six years. Both sides of Marion Street and on Wood.bridge Street and
Albemarle Street north of Wheelock Parkway. • Large area5south of Wheelock
Parkway have also been rezoned.
C. PROPOSED USE: The petitioner indicates this single lot 41.6' x 123.3' •with
an area of 5,129 �square feet is to used for parking." He has a petition �
to rezone two adjoining lots to the north that will be considered at a future
- date.
D. AREA ZONING: "A" Residsnce to the north; "C" Residence to the east and "A"
Residence to the south and west. '
