1 RESOLVED, that upon execution and delivery of a release in full to the City of St. Paul,the proper City
2 officers are hereby authorized and directed to pay to Kathleen O'Connor and her attorneys Meshbesher &
3 Spence, Ltd. and Sandra K. Kensy the sum of $100,000 from the Tort Liability Fund, activity number
4 09070-0511, in exchange for a full, final and complete settlement and release of all claims to date which
5 have or could have been asserted in the summons and complaint served on the City Clerk on May 16,
6 2001.

Initiating Problem, Issues, Opportunity (Who, What, When, Where, Why):
Plainriff Kathleen O'Connor brought suit against ffie City and others alleging she was discivninated against on the basis of her gender
and age, to prevent her from becoming a firefighter. It is agreed that the best interest of the City will be served by emering into the
proposed settlement agreement which calls for the paymern of $100,000 to plain6ff in full, final and complete settlement and release of
all of her claixns to date.
