An ordinance amending the Zoning
Code, Chapters 60 to 64, inclusive, of
the Saint Paul Legislative Code, per-
taining to Use Districts, Height Dis-
tricts and Rezoning of certain properties
in the City of Saint Paul, as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Zoning Gode, Chapters 60 to 64,
inelusive, of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to
Use Districts, Height Districts and Rezoning of certain pro-
perties in the City of Saint Paul, as amended, be and the same
is hereby further amended so as to rezone the following described
property from "B" Residenee District to Light Industry District,
to-wit:
Lots 13 and 14, Block 2, Major' s Addition,
Ramsey Co. , Minn. ;
situate on property located on the north side of Benson Street
between Iiomer and Leland Streets in the City of Saint Paul.
Section 2. This ordinanee shall take effect and be in
force thirty (30) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication.

Pursuant to Section 23, Ordinance 5840, we, the undersigned owners
of two-thirds of the several descriptions of real estate situated
within 100 feet of the real estate affected, hereby acquiesce; and
we, the owners of 50� or more of the frontage to be reclassified,
petition your Honorable Body to rezone the following described
property
Lots 13 and 14 , Block 2, Major's Addition
from a "B" residence district to a light industrial district for
the purpose of installing additio�al parking area.
Whereas, all parcels in the surrounding area below W. 7th Street
are zoned industrial and,
Whereas, the parcel above described is immediately adjacent to the

Whereas, rezoning of this property will be in line with the highest

Dear Sir:
This is in regards to the petition of Edward E. Parranto to rezone from
"B" Residence to Li;ht Industry property located on the north side of Benson
Street between Homer and I,eland Straets. Tnis prooerty is described as Lots
13, 14, Blook 2 Major's Addition. The applicant proposes to utilize tnis
property for additional narking area.
This matter was consid�red at the February 15, 1908 Board of Zoning
meeting. The staff reported that the petition had b�en declared sufficient
with the ownErs of 13 of a possible 19 (68o) of tracts within 100' having
signed. Area zoning consi:sts of Commercial to the north, "B" R�sidence to
the east and south, and �,ight Industry to tne south and west. Existing
development includes light industrial uses to the west and southwest and
scattered residential uses throughout the area. Benson Avenue is rough
graded in the residential area. The property is approximately 20' below
tha grade of West 7th Street.
Original zoning for the large area south, of West 7th Street was "B"
Residance. Recent rezonings in the area have been to Light Industry and
Commercial. The Comprehensive Plan recommends Light Industry zoning for
the entir�: area from Rankin Street to the vicinity of the Lexington Avenue
bridge including the property in question and adjoining properties.
Therefore, the Board of Zoning recommends approval of the petition to
rezons from "B" Residence to Light Industry.
