��I�� �� WHEREAS, Carl G. Langland has covered the . Pau ity
Hall and Court House for 38 years, distinguishing himself
throughout his career by accuraey, honesty, and diligence in
seeking and writing the news; and
WHEREAS, Carl G. Langland today leaves us for an honor—
able and well—earned retirement; and
WI�REAS, The Council wishes to express in a public and
official Yashion its deep regard for Carl and its sincere regret
at his leaving; and
WHEREAS, The Council deeply hopes that Carl and his wife
have a most pleasant and rewarding retirement; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Saint Paul that
Carl G. Langland is extended the most sincere and heartfelt best
wishes on his retirement; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That Carl G. Langland is hereby awarded
the honorary title of "Mx. City Hall" , in reeognition of his
truly unique and outstanding record as a newsman; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Clerk is directed to prepaze
an engrossed copy of this resolution. and �orward it to Mr.
Langland with all deliberate speed.
