WHEREAS, const ti o e new ivic Center depends upon
the availability of ede 1 ts for planning and for urban re-
newal of the con.struction area; and
WHEREAS, planning for the Civic Center could not proeeed
without assurance such grants will be available; and
WHEREAS, desp�e Federal budgetary problems all requisite
planning grants and renewal commitments have been made as needed
to expedite Civic Center planning; and
WHEREAS, Representative Joseph E. Karth has been the principal
reason the grant process has operated so smoothly, devoting great
amounts of his time and energy to the matter; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED� By the Council of the City of Saint Paul� that
the Council express, on its own. behalf and that of the ,people of
Saint Paul� ite appreciation to Gongressman Karth for his diligent
and able service in beh alf of his district and in behalf of the
Givie Center project; and be it
FURTHER R.ES4LVED, That. the City Glerk is directed to p�epare
an engrossed copy of this resolution ard to present i�C to Con.gressman
Karth as soon as possible.
