WHEREP�S, the Council of the City of Saint Paul has
received notice that the �hicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad
Company has filed a notice under 3ection l3A(1) of the Interatate
Commerce Act of its intention to �h�ange the operation of passenger
trains numbers 22 and 23 between Chicago, Illinois, and S�int Paul,
Minnesota; and
WI�EREA3, the proposed change of operation will result in the
combining of trains nunabers 22 and 23 with two other passenger
trains operating between Sai.nt Paul and Chicago at difterent
time schedules; and
W�TEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul being duly
adnised in the premises, finds that said change in operations is,
in essence, a discontinuanee of passenger service and 3s not in
the best interest ot the citiaens of Saint Paul or t�ire 3'win Cities
Metropolitan Area to have the aforesaid trains diseontinueds now,
therefore, be it
RT30LV�D, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul heteby
expresses its opposition to the aforementioned proposed change
in operation of paasenger train service by th� Chicago, Burlington
- and Quincy Railroad Company to the Interstate Commeree Commission
and requests that the Interstate Com�nerce Commission deny such
change in train operation by the Railroad until the Interstate
c� Commerce Commission can make an overall analysis of all Burlington
o passenger trains operating between Saint Paul and Chicago and can
� � determine if any change in passenger train operation is warranted;
