WHEREAS, Earl Almqui�t has dedicated his li£� to providing
vital news in�orm�tion to the people of the Twin Cities; and
WF�REAS, Earl Almquist, as reporter, and as editor has made
a lasting contribution to our civic 1ife; and
W�RLAS, Earl Almquist, as editor of the Minnesota Union
Advocate has raised the status not only of the newspaper but
of th� labor press in general to ne�a heights of respect in the
minds of the public; and
WI�REA3, on the oecasion of his r�tirement, the Ma�or and
Council desire to express the appreciation o€ the public to Earl
Almquiat for his many and distinguish�d services to the people
of Saint Paul and to the labor movement; now, therefore, be it
