WHEREAS, the Public Service Gommission of the State of
Minnesota, in the matter of the joint petition of the Minneapolis
Transit Company and the Saint Paul Transit Company for an emer-
gency order to fix and establish a temporary and permanent fare
to be charged for the carriage of passengers pursuant to Chapter
221, Minnesota Statutes , has set such matter for hearing on
Thursday, February 13, 1g6g, at 10:00 otclock a.m. relative
to the request of said companies for an increase of 5 cents,
from 25 cents to 30 cents � in the basic fare to be charged
riders on said system; and �
� WHEREAS, it appears that the interests of the City of
Saint Paul and its citizens would best be served by the City�s
participation as a party in interest in such hearing,
Now, Therefore , be it
RESOLVED� That the Gorporation Counsel is hereby
authorized and directed to enter an appearance in said pro-
ceeding on the part of the City of Saint Paul, and to take
such action therein as the City�s interest may dictate; and
be it
FURTHER RESOLVED� That John W. Connelly, Research Analyst�
and Robert E. O�Connell , Assistant Gorporation Gounsel, are
hereby authorized and directed to appear on behalf of the Gity
in such proceeding.
