To the Honorwble Mayor and Council
of the City of Saint Paul .
Gentlemen:
The tabulation ofbid 3327 on behalf of the City of St. Pau1 an3
the County of Ramsey, offering the sale of certain real property
more flzl.ly described in the attached bid form, was considered at
length by Mr. J. William Donovan, City Valuation Engineer, Jerome
Segal, Assistant Corporation Counsel, and Mr. Thomas Quayle, Assis-
tant County Attorney. •
Two bids taere received, as follors:
Noxtht•restern Bell Telephone Copany 18,010.00 .
Preferred Sheet Metal, Inc. 25,12y.00
The proposal of the Telephone Company rakes note of the fact that
subject lands adjoin their existing buildin; plant and are neces-
sary for eansion to serve the northern suburban area to meet the
.rotaing service reqvirements of the cor.munity. The proposal of
Preferred Sheet Metal Co. proposes development of an ofiice build-
7ng complex and restaurant. .
In view of the wide disparity in the bids, it is recommended that
the high bid be accepted and that the proper City officials be
directed to execute the necessary docur.lents for signature.
Respectfully submitted,
