Resolution in support of Renovation of the Union Depot
2 WHEREAS, the Union Depot has been identified by a task force created by the Ramsey Council Regional Railroad
3 Authority (RCRRA) as the site for a future multi-modal transit center for high speed rail, Amtrak, Commuter rail,
4 light rail transit and bus; now, therefore be it
5 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports the RCRRA request for $2.5 million of state bonding money for
6 the rejuvenation of the Union Depot; and be it £urther
7 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul requests federal authorization and a$5 million appropriation to renovate
8 Union Depot to restore passenger rail service; and be it finally
3 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul requests federal assistance in assisting the Postal Service in finding an
10 alternate site for their functions currently located at Union Depot.
