WHEAEAS, the Department of Planning and Economic Development has applied for and been selected to
receive a Livable Communities Grant through the Metropolitan Council, and
WHEREAS, the Livable Communities Grant of S' 1.25 Million will be used to make street, pedestrian, bike
path and transit improvements along Wabasha/Concord Street from Plato Boulevard to the City limits with
particular emphasis on improving the operation and safety of the Concord-State-George intersection, and
WHEREAS, said improvements have been developed and approved in partnership with the Riveroiew
Economic Development Association (REDA), West Side Citizen Organization (WSCO), Saint Paul on the
Mississippi Design Center and various City Departments, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works will design, inspect and administer a contract for said
improvements along Concord Street, so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the
Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $1,250,000 is available
for appropriation in the 2004 Capital Improvement Budgets, as heretofore adopted and amended
by this Council, be hereby further amended in the Improvement Budgets, in the following particulars:
