RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul
urgently requests that the Legislature of the State of
Minnesota regulate and control the maximum noise emitted
by motor vehicles while traveling on any highway and prohibit
the sale of new vehicles which exceed these maximum noise
levels as provided in the two attached bills, copies of which
are attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section l. Minnesota Statutes 1967, Chapter 169, is
. amended by adding a section to read:
[MOTOR VEHICLE NOISE LIMITS� Subd. l. No person shall
se11 or offer for sale a new motor vehicle which produces a
maximum noise exceeding the following noise limit at a •

distance of 50 feet from the centerline of travel under test
�rocedures established by i:he commissioner:
(a) Any motorcycle manufactured prior to .
