04-258RESOLUTION ITY OF SAiNT PAUL, MiNNESOTA Presented By Referred to Green Sheet # �b\\ �lD C\ � � � Committee: Date WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has sponsored a family ice fishing event for a number of years, and is planning such an event far March 6, 2004, at Round Lake, located in the City of Maplewood, Ramsey County; and 4 WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Sheriffls Office has jurisdiction over the County's lakes 5 and waters, and is willing to permit the use of Round Lake for such an event on the condition that 6 the City of Saint Paul indemnify and hold hannless the County; and 7 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that a family ice fishing event has a 8 legitimate public purpose; and 9 WHEREAS, the expenditure of public funds, which includes the promise of 10 indemnification and defense, for such a purpose will facilitate and enable the event to take place; 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 now, therefare, be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the foregoing defense and indemnificarion does not cover: 1) any occurrences or events which are not part, of the ice-fishing event and which do not occur or take place at Round Lake during the course of the event. 2) injuries or damages which arise from hidden traps or conditions existing on the grounds surrounding Round Lake of which the county had actual or constructive notice. 3) injuries which arise out of criminal actions, assaults, batteries or other acts of violence committed by any person or persons; and be it Page 1 of 2 oy '�� Green Sheet # RESOLUTION ITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA Presented By Referred to Committee: Date 19 20 21 FURTHER RESOLVED, that nothing in the foregoing provisions shall be construed as a waiver of the municipal tort liability limits set forth in Minn. Windey Recreation Center Director Area Six Re: Family Ice Fishing Area Six again will host the Family Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, Maxch 6, 2004. We again will use Round Lake next to Phalen. We will be fishing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. 3oes Sporting Goods will co-sponsor this event along with the Area Six Recreation Centers. I will be the contact person for the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department Water Patrol Unit. I will need a copy of the Resolution (Green Sheet) and a copy of a letter showing we are self insured. I will also contact Bruce Anderson in Maple wood for their permission to hold the fishing contest on Round Lake, because it is located in Maplewood. Attached you will find the permit application from the Ramsey County Sheriff and our flyer for the ice fishing contest. If you have any questions please feel free to call me.
